Time at a Premium

Food drops are shipped, bloodwork and veterinary check completed; now it is time to pack the truck and head to Anchorage for the pre-race events. I have the drivers meeting all day Thursday, the banquet that night. Then we have the ceremonial start Saturday in Anchorage and the real start Sunday in Willow. My last day of work is Tuesday so there is not much time to spare for sharing online.

Devan, Louis, and Jewel will help me keep it all together and they have all made big contributions already. Devan has been busy getting my equipment ready, building me a cool, new sled as well as rebuilding our dog truck and many other things. Louis has been the main trainer all season since I work full time. He has also raced them in numerous events this season, finishing well in all the races. And Jewel was the race "cook" making me meals to enjoy on the trail.

All for now. I will try to update again before the race but no guarantees. Happy trails. judy

Judy, Hi, this is Lisa S. in Wasilla. Good Luck, we'll be following you. And, I have a real good feeling that you and your team will do well this year.

My daughter Ilsa's dogs decided to get into a fight 1-1/2 miles from a checkpoint, and that started an avalanche of tiffs, so she had to scratch, but they did a really good job up to 62 miles (just past Eagle Song) in the Jr. Iditarod last weekend.

Stay safe (and fast)--
Tell Devon and Scooby-Doo I said Hi.

Hi Judy,
My name is Julianna and I am a first grader at New Albany School in Cinnaminson, New Jersey. My teacher Mrs. Kotzen has been teaching us about the Iditarod. She assigned each one of us a musher to follow and you are mine. I will be following your progress. I think your dogs are very cute. I hope you have a safe trip!

Its your favorite official pooper scooper! I'm doing a presentation in my class on friday about the Iditarod so I decided to look into the updates going on this year. I hope this year goes well for you and you have a safe race! I miss it so much! I really need to come back already. It's been to long! Let me know when you get home how it went! I also wanted to ask you about being a reference for me because I'm applying for Americorps NCCC again. I'll explain more later when you got less on your mind! Best of luck to you! I'll be seeing you finish in the top 10 this year right!?! ;) I'll be keeping a eye on you online! Tell devon and megan hello and tuffy a big kiss for me.

Judy Currier, Hi this is Vara sharma from Washington DC. We are studying about Iditarod in my Third grade class.

I was given your name as my Musher to follow through this race.

I am so proud of you. You are doing great.

I need your address because teacher asked us to write letter to our mushers. And I do not have your address as you were not in the race last year. Rest of my class teacher got the address for their mushers.

Will be waiting for your reply.

Bye
