Team 2011

As I write this, seven of my main team members are headed to Whitehorse for the start of the Yukon Quest. No, they won't be spectating, they will be running in Tamara Rose's team as she takes on the YQ for the first time.  Since Devan is unable to run this year, I offered our three/four year olds for TROSE to run instead of the two year olds she had been training.  So the Harry Potter kids - Hooch, Muggles, Weasley and Wizard - plus Grumpy, Screamer and Skor should all get a solid 1000 mile training run as preparation for the Iditarod.

Hooch

Except for Hooch, all of the "Bad Ass" Currier kids have completed in the Iditarod with me or Tamara, so she has a solid group to work with.  This season, Weasley has bloosomed into a great leader (we hope like his brother Larry) and Wizard too can manage the position as long as there are no attractive females in the vicinity.  Hooch, Grump and Screamer all can run up front as well, we just don't know if they will do so as they get further down the trail.  Skor is the power, a 4 footed engine who will keep the sled moving steady down the trail. And Muggles...well, what can we say; he is the entertainment, the ever-ready bunny with endless amounts of energy.  I suspect he will start at wheel and finish there also.

Muggles, The Maniac

Tomorrow, Misha will head south as well. She will be running the Quest 300 with a team of Iditarod veterans plus one two year old.  Jewel and Peggy will be joining her for the long journey to Whitehorse and handling for her during the race.  With the weather forecast pretty temperate at this point, I think it should be a good time for all.

Misha's team his headlined by my main leaders Athena, Teva, Phoenix, and Pistol and powered by triple towers Tundra, Barney, and Doc.  Cheerleaders Wilma, Screech, will provide the enthusiasm and Pebbles, Tempe, and Jeff will round out the team.
